Hello and a happy new year to one and all from the new look Topps team, more about the team later….
We hope you all had a very festive season and managed to avoid all the colds, flu’s, bugs and viruses that seem to have been doing the rounds! If not we very much hope that will be back in the saddle as quickly as possible.
We are all very much looking forward to working alongside you throughout 2018.
The Topp Team
As mentioned earlier there has been some changes to the in-house team which we are very excited about and we felt it was important to keep you informed and introduce you to the changes.
First up is the exciting news about one on our in-house interpreters Philippa Spencer who has been with TLS since last April. Philippa will be leaving us for a maternity break at the end of March to have her baby. At this exciting time for Philippa we will all be wishing her the best of luck with her confinement and look forward to her return at the end of her maternity break. So…. all you female interpreters out there, we will be looking for a female to add to the in-house team for maternity cover at the very least. Interested????
Next, we are happy to introduce our new office admin Amy Hemsley who will be a main source of contact for many of you. Amy joined TLS in January and is settling in very nicely to her role. Amy is still getting to grips with her role and dealing with many interpreters so please be patient with her…. 😉
We would also like to welcome and introduce to you two new interpreters to the team and they are:
Max Gartery, Max is a TSLI and is well on the road to qualification and has been in practice since Jan 2017 after achieving his BA Hons in British Sign Language and Deaf Studies at UCLan in 2016. Max joined TLS at the end of January and we are looking forward to great things from him.
The second new interpreter who we are sure many of you will know from his work as a founder of VLP and now as a board member of RBSLI is Van Holtom. Van brings a wealth of 29 years’ experience working in the interpreting field and we very much look forward to the support and enrichment Van brings to TLS.
Both Max and Van will be working with TLS on a part time basis throughout the week, which will make up the position of a full-time post.
Then of course there is the one and only Cassandra who as well as doing some interpreting out in the community, is also busy maintaining the TLS contracts with our various commissioners, rather her than me…. Circus juggler comes to mind 😊!
If you have any questions, queries or need just general information please feel free to get in touch as we would always love to hear from you out there at the coal face.
