Lip-speakers

A lip-speaker conveys a speaker’s message to lip-readers accurately using unvoiced speech.

This requires the lip-speaker to produce the shapes of words with exceptional clarity, and reproduce the rhythm and phrasing of speech together with facial expressions and gestures.

This is usually a one-way communication where the lip-speaker repeats dialogue using clear lip patterns making it simple to lip-read.

We have an extensive network of registered freelance lip-speakers who can work in any domain required.

We ensure that all our lip-speakers:

  • Are registered with the NRCPD (National Registers of Communication Professionals for Deaf and Deafblind People) and ALS (Association of Lip-speakers)
  • Have an up-to-date DBS certificate
  • Have Professional Indemnity Insurance (PII)

As well as being experienced and professional, our lip-speakers friendly and easy to work with too!
